Georgia Power searching for cause of Tuesday outage
Power outage

Many Georgia Power Company customers in the Statesboro area around the mall and downtown experienced a widespread power outage Tuesday morning. The cause of the outage is not known, at this time.
The outage affected as many as 2,300 customers at one point, but just before 11 a.m., there were only seven customers still without service, according to http://outagemap.georgiapower.com.
Georgia Power Company spokesman Craig Bell said crews are currently working to resolve the problem and to determine its cause, which is unknown at this time. He said all power should be restored by 12:30 p.m.
