Four arrested in abandoned house on Spruce Street
All charged with possession of drugs, firearm

Four men caught in an abandoned house without permission were arrested on drug and gun charges Tuesday.Statesboro police Advanced Patrol Officer Jared Shababy observed several people in an abandoned house on Spruce Street Tuesday around 1 a.m., said interim Statesboro police Chief Robert Bryan.“After making contact with the owner of the house, it was confirmed that no one was given permission to be inside the residence,” he said. “Officers searched the home and arrested four subjects, recovering a quantity of cocaine and a firearm.”Those arrested were: Jimmy Mosely, 50, Pine Street; Antawan Derell Strickland, 31, Frink Road; William Ray Leach Cooper, 47, Jacksonville, Fla., and Rudolph Hendrix, 64, Jacksonville.All were charged with with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of cocaine, criminal trespass and possession of drug-related objects.Cooper and Strickland were also each charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.All four were taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where they faced bond hearings and other court hearings.Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to contact the Statesboro Police Department at (912) 764-9911.
