A Brooklet man was killed Saturday in a single-vehicle accident on Ga. 46.

Charles Edwin Crosby Jr., 46, West Lee Street, Brooklet, was driving east on Ga. 46 when his 2010 Jeep Wrangler left the roadway and traveled into a ditch, according to Georgia State Patrol reports.

His Jeep overturned and struck a concrete culvert with its top. Crosby was ejected from the vehicle, and also struck a culvert, reports stated.

The Jeep landed on its wheels in the ditch a short distance away while Crosby's body came to rest about four feet from the culvert.

He died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident, GSP reports stated.

Crosby was a vice president with KJM Custom Components in Statesboro. A former board member with the Bulloch County Board of Education (chairman), he also served as past president of the Brooklet Kiwanis Club and served on the Southeast Bulloch High School Council.

A visitation service will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Warren Williams, Rev. Mike Brown and Rev. Wes Moye officiating.

Entombment will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
