How would you like to sample most of your local restaurants in one convenient location, and for only a small fee?
This afternoon, Wells Fargo Advisors presents “Taste of Downtown,” a First Friday event. For a $5 entrance fee, you can satisfy your taste buds while sampling local fare.
Different vendors from the downtown area will have food samples available from local restaurants. You can shop and dine on the go with family and friends. A wristband and a map of participating merchants will be included with $5 ticket.
“This is my favorite event that I truly look forward to that not only showcase businesses and restaurants, but also enables friends and family to come together,” said Marie Proctor, owner of Southern Glamour. “It is an affair that you have to experience for yourself.”
 “Taste of Downtown is one of our most popular events of the year and will feature dozens of restaurants,” said Allen Muldrew, the executive director of Main Street Statesboro and the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority.
Live entertainment will be provided on the courthouse lawn. In addition, Chyann Rose, a 15-year-old local talent, will sing at Cake & Cool Beanz and Drew Wiggins, an inspirational songwriter, will perform outside of Chops. Also, the Tall Paul Band will perform at Eagle Creek BreweryAdditional entertainment will be aimed at children.
The event begins at 5:30 pm on the courthouse lawn downtown.
