A fight Friday night between women gave deputies the information they needed to arrest one woman on child molestation and other charges, the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office reported.
Deputies responded to a report of a fight in progress at a residence in the 3000 block of Cowboy Way in Portal at 9:45 p.m., according to a news release. Upon separating the women, the deputies found that the cause of the fight was that one of them had learned that the other, Amanda Gwaltney, 33, of Savannah, had performed oral sex on a 14-year-old boy, the report said.
Capt. Todd Hutchens from the sheriff's department's Criminal Investigations Division also investigated and was able to corroborate this version of events, according to the news release.
The sheriff's office charged Gwaltney with one count each of sodomy, child molestation and cruelty to children in the second degree. She was taken to the Bulloch County Jail and remained there Monday without bond.
