Farm Bureau to host law officer appreciation event
Luncheon set for June 30
Georgia Farm Bureau

Bulloch County Farm Bureau plans to host a Law Enforcement Appreciation Day luncheon Saturday, June 30, and is seeking the help of other sponsors and individual donors.

The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Farm Bureau office at 940 Northside Drive East.

Hamburgers, chips and soft drinks will be served, said Andy Dyches, chair of the Bulloch County Farm Bureau's committee for this event. The purpose is to thank law enforcement officers, human and canine, for their service to the community, Dyches said.

"We're also going to have goody bags for the K-9 units, because they're law enforcement too," he said.

Officers, detectives and agents of the Georgia State Patrol, Bulloch County Sheriff's Office, Statesboro Police Department, Brooklet, Portal and Register police departments, GBI, FBI, university and college police departments and other agencies are invited to attend and have lunch for free.

Small gift items to show appreciation, such as coffee cups and pens, are welcome as donations, Dyches said. He mentioned two restaurants that have donated items for the meal and said monetary donations would also be accepted.

"Any type of donation is appreciated," he said. "We just want to let them know that they are appreciated for what they do."

Donations can be sent to Bulloch County Farm Bureau; 940 Northside Drive East; Statesboro GA 30458, or call (912) 764-6231 to have donations picked up, Dyches said. Donations must be turned in by June 15.
