The Bulloch County Board of Education has transformed its regular work session scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday into a town hall meeting about the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
The town hall meeting will be held in the cafetorium at the Bulloch County Schools central office complex, 150 Williams Road, instead of the board’s smaller chambers in the same complex. The meeting will consist of a brief overview of the proposed ESPLOST and then a question-and-answer session for citizens, said Hayley Greene, the Bulloch County Schools public relations specialist.
Participants can park in the large parking lot on the side of the Central Office, and enter the double doors under the portico.
Advanced voting in the countywide ESPLOST referendum is underway, and Nov.7 is Election Day. Its approval would authorize a five-year extension of an existing 1 percent tax.
