Bulloch County drug agents arrested three on methamphetamine charges after seeing two of them “acting suspiciously” around several pharmacies in Statesboro early Thursday.
Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson said Bulloch County Drug Suppression Team investigators spotted a vehicle with two occupants cruising around local
pharmacies. The occupants were acting oddly, and investigators suspected they were “engaged in purchasing components needed to manufacture methamphetamine,” he said.
Soon the drug agents found probable cause to stop the vehicle and questioned Scott Alan Lank, 42, Mill Creek Lodge, and Russell Wayne Hickox, 26, Old Olive Branch Road, Ellabell.
When they searched the vehicle, investigators found “a quantity of methamphetamine and components to manufacture meth,” he said.
While the men were taken to jail, investigators followed up on more information and found more methamphetamine components, marijuana and drug paraphernalia at a Mill Creek Estates apartment, Anderson said. Tracy Jean Lively, 41, Mill Creek Lodge, was arrested as well.
Lank and Hickox were charged with criminal attempt to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine, while Lively was charged with criminal attempt to manufacture methamphetamine.
All three were taken to the Bulloch County Jail to await court procedures including a bond hearing, he said.
