Doo wop holiday show at the Mars on Dec. 7

Get ready to stroll with your little darlin' down Santa Claus Lane as the Mars Theatre wraps up its 2019 live event season with a show for the whole family.  The Diamonds will perform  "Silver Bells and Diamonds" Dec. 7 at 7 p.m.  Tickets are still available and can be purchased at, Springfield City Hall, theater box office or call 912-754-1118.

The Diamonds’ newly revamped holiday show combines the best of "The Diamonds — In Concert" with high energy holiday favorites everyone will enjoy. The show opens with a "Jingle Bells" Christmas medley. Then The Diamonds sing classic tunes from the 50s and early 60s, featuring their signature harmony filled vocals and always entertaining stage presence.  

Just before intermission The Diamonds sing their biggest hit, "Little Darlin’." In 1957 The Diamonds released the instant million-selling hit, which continues to sell worldwide and has been dubbed the "National Anthem of Rock and Roll.”  To date it has sold approximately 20 million copies.  It appears on the soundtracks for "Happy Days" and "American Graffiti."  

The second half of the show is a fast-paced ride through many of the great holiday favorites.

Tickets are also on sale for three 2020 shows; the 3 Redneck Tenors (Jan. 10), the Gospel Side of Elvis featuring the Blackwood Quartet (Feb. 8) and magician/ventriloquist/illusionist Andy Gross (April 4).  Visit to learn more about these shows and upcoming movie schedules.
