DG Headshot 8x10
DeWayne Grice
As expected, DeWayne Grice announced Monday morning his intention to run for Statesboro mayor. Grice, who co-owns Lori Grice Photography in downtown Statesboro, made the announcement on the “Mornings unPHILtered” Web and radio program. The show is broadcast live at 9 a.m. on BoroLive.com and simulcast on WWNS-AM 1240 radio.
“I've been thinking about it for the last two years. Statesboro has been very good to me. This is a wonderful community that I've had the opportunity to build a few businesses in,” Grice said. “I think it's time for younger leaders to step up to the plate and work to move the vision forward in our community.
“I feel that based upon my past experience, my love for this city and my involvement at so many levels in and out of city government that this is the time to step forward, help heal our city and move it forward.”
Grice's complete announcement and his answers concerning consolidation, the city charter, the issues he feels are facing the community can be found at BoroLive.com.
