When Ruth Ann Rogers retired from her full-time employment at Georgia Southern four years ago, she quickly transitioned into full-time service to others. Combin-ing more formal service to community organizations with informal service to others, When Ruth Ann retired, she knew she wanted to do volunteer service with the American Red Cross in remembrance of her mother-in-law who spent 50 years as a Red Cross volunteer. Ruth Ann has held a number of roles in Red Cross, and currently serves as coordinator for the Mims Monroe Blood Service Center at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. Ruth Ann also admired the work of Habitat for Humanity, so - when the couple who had coordinated the Habitat Flag Program left, she volunteered for this important fund-raising effort.
