Couple faces drug charges
Police: Street, prescription drugs found in hotel room

    After responding early Saturday to a call about a sick person at a local hotel, Statesboro Police arrested a couple on drug charges. Officers found a collection of street drugs as well as pain medications and sedatives, police reports stated.
    Around 2 a.m. Saturday, officers arrived at Baymont Inn & Suites to find Dwayne Richard Gay, 34, Ollifftown Road, Twin City, and Cheri Kersey Morris, 36, of the same address, in a hotel room with a variety of drugs, including prescription medicines for which they had no original containers or prescriptions, according to incident reports.
    Gay and Morris were each charged with two counts of illegal possession of Xanax; illegal possession of clanazepam, of methadone, of Oxycontin, and of morphine, reports stated.
    Each were also charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana.
    Both were processed and taken to the Bulloch County Jail.
    Monday, Gay was bonded out around 5 p.m. on a $10,000 property bond, according to jail records. Morris remained in jail at the time, also with a $10,000 property bond.
