Undercover Bulloch County drug agents arrested a South Carolina couple Thursday after watching them buy ingredients for making methamphetamine from multiple locations.
Bulloch County Drug Suppression Team members noticed Danny Leroy Kilgore, 41, and Amy Hepler, 31, both of Laurens Road, Greenwood, SC, acting suspiciously Thursday, said Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson.
Drug investigators followed both suspects as they drove to several area pharmacies and hardware outlets, and observed as they bought “purchases of components for “the manufacture of methamphetamine,” he said.
When the two left Statesboro, investigators found probable cause to stop them, and searched the car.
After methamphetamine and ingredients used to make the drug were found in the vehicle, both were charged with criminal attempt to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine, he said. Both Kilgore and Hepler are being held in the Bulloch County Jail, awaiting court hearings.
Anderson said he encourages citizens to report suspected drug activity to “tips@bullochsheriff.com” or by calling (912) 764-1786.
