Approval of a list of streets to be resurfaced in 2020 is one of the items on the agenda for Statesboro City Council’s 9 a.m. Tuesday regular meeting.
Another item, which could be formally adopted as an ordinance in the city code, is the proposed Community Redevelopment Tax Incentive Program. Discussed off and on since March, this has often been referred to as the “blight tax” proposal.
The street resurfacing will be funded with almost $329,000 from the Georgia Department of Transportation plus at least $98,685 from the city’s share of the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
Some other items on the agenda have to do with city employee benefits and sick leave.
This open session will be held in the council chambers at City Hall on East Main Street.
