The Georgia Southern University Political Science Club is hosting a forum for candidates for Georgia’s 12th Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Russell Union Theater, Room 1088 in the Russell Union Building.

This event, which is set for 6 p.m., is open to the public.

The club lists Democratic candidates Robert Ingham, Francys Johnson and Trent Nesmith and Republican candidate Eugene Yu as expected to appear. Rep. Rick Allen, the Republican incumbent, was invited, but his schedulers did not respond, said club member Eduardo Delgado.

Each candidate will give a brief opening statement. Then the candidates will be asked questions from GSU professors and political science students, plus some general audience questions submitted prior to the event.

Candidates will have the option to meet and greet the audience after the closing statements, according to a list of forum guidelines Delgado provided.
