Commissioners deny Bulloch Bay rezone request
Vote unanimous
W 100416 ZONING VOTE 01
Citizens spill out into the hallway of the Bulloch County Commission chambers for a period of public comment before before the commission voted not to grant a zoning change to light industry for property owned by Daniel Bradley, Jr. near I-16 and Hwy. 67.
Bulloch County commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday night to deny a rezone request by a man hoping to offer a 4,682-acre tract in south Bulloch County as a proposed industrial park site. Savannah businessman Daniel Bradley Jr., owner of GA I-16 Bulloch LLC, wanted to have the property in the Bulloch Bay area near Hwy. 67 and Interstate 16 rezoned from Ag-5 to Light Industrial, but after hearing intense opposition from residents of the area, Bulloch County Planning and Zoning recommended denial for the request twice. Tuesday, the final decision came before the Bulloch County Commission, which, after spending over two hours hearing from those in favor of the rezone as well as those against it, gave the request a third strike.
