City to discuss annexation
Requests tabled at last meeting to be on Tuesdays agenda

    Two annexation requests that were tabled at the last meeting will be on Statesboro’s agenda for their meeting Tuesday night.
    The two requests, both located on Lanier Drive near Bird Lane, are requesting to be annexed in with a zoning of R-10 (single-family residential). At the meeting two weeks ago, the council seemed to prefer an R-15 designation, which would require a larger lot size to build houses on the property.
    The council tabled the two requests to allow time to discuss with the applicants if they would accept the R-15 zoning because they were the ones petitioning for annexation.
    Other items on the city’s agenda include:
    ‰ a motion to authorize $75 in net pay as a Christmas bonus for eligible employees and board members;
    ‰ a motion to award a two-year contract, contingent upon an annual review of service, to Uniforms by Patrick for uniforms for the Statesboro Police Department;
    ‰ a motion to approve a waiver of both the application fee and per diem fee for temporary vendors participating in the downtown Holiday Celebration on December 7 at the request of the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority.
