Two people were killed in a Thanksgiving Day crash near Metter when a pickup truck struck their car head-on, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Brian Keith Davis, 26, of Radio Station Road in Reidsville, and his passenger Nicole Lynn Torpea, 22, of Rebecca's Waldon Road in Douglas, were both killed in the impact, a GSP report states. Just before noon Thursday, Ronnie Sides, 42, of Hollow Keg Road in Augusta, driving a 2013 Ford F-150, tried passing a vehicle on Georgia Highway 23 near the Candler-Tattnall county line when the pickup struck the 2007 Honda Civic driven by Davis, the report states.
