A 20-year-old man has been arrested on three counts of child molestation and other charges, according to the Statesboro Police Department.

Police responded to Eagle Gate Apartments at about 6:30 a.m. Saturday in reference to a missing juvenile. The juvenile had returned before officers arrived.

Officers learned that the juvenile, a 12-year-old girl, had been at an abandoned unit at Eagle Gate Apartments with Christin Perez, 20, of Plantation Mobile Home Park, and two other juveniles — a 10-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy — according to a police news release issued Monday.

Police said Perez had sexual contact with the 12-year-old girl while the other children were present. A police report indicates that the incident took place between 1:30 and 6:21 a.m. Saturday.

Perez was located and charged with three counts each of child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and one count each of burglary and underage possession of alcohol.

He is being held at the Bulloch County Jail awaiting further court action. This case is still under investigation and no further information is being released at this time.
