Ongoing projects and marketing successes are increasing tourists' exposure to Bulloch County's musical and agricultural heritage, developing Statesboro's status as a "sports mecca" and introducing it to travel writers. Those were the highlights Monday at the Statesboro Convention & Visitors Bureau's annual meeting, a well-attended luncheon in a Springhill Suites Conference Center. SCVB President Darin Van Tassell took turns at the podium with the bureau's vice president, Barry Turner, Georgia Southern University Museum director Brent Tharp and Georgia Department of Economic Development regional tourism project manager Lori Hennesy as they summarized the latest news in these areas of interest.
