Arrest made in 2015 child rape case
Matthew Dillion Geiger

Statesboro police arrested a man Wednesday who had been at large almost four years since warrants were issued for his arrest on rape and child molestation charges.

Matthew Dillion Geiger, of Tar City Road in Ellabell, is charged in the 2015 molestation and rape of a 13-year-old girl, said Statesboro Police Det. Sgt. Patrick Haralson.

Geiger, 27, was reportedly living with a woman at a Bulloch Street address in 2016 when she told police he “got into bed with her 13-year-old daughter and had sex with her,” he said.

Detectives issued warrants for Geiger’s arrest after the woman reported the incident, but he was not able to be located until this past week, he said.

Geiger was taken to the Bulloch County Jail and booked on charges of child molestation and rape. He is being held without bond pending further court hearings.
