Eleven marching bands from the area, including those from Statesboro High, Southeast Bulloch High and Portal High, performed Saturday at the annual Band Blast. Normally held on Fred Shaver Field at Southeast Bulloch, rain moved the event inside the school's gymnasium so the bands could get their work in.

With marching band competition season at hand, the Band Blast gives area bands an opportunity to hone their performances and get feedback from veteran judges without the pressure of scoring.
