Statesboro police arrested eight people Saturday after responding to a reported fight at Park Place Apartments.

Five were listed as charged with affray, or fighting, in Monday's Bulloch County Jail roster. Statesboro police Sgt. Jake Saxon said further information regarding the fight was unavailable Monday, as the case remains under investigation. He did not have a current list available for all eight arrested in the melee but said three more were taken into custody on other related charges.

The five charged with affray are Adrianna Latrina Bailey, 17, of Campus Crossing Apartments; Ernest Bartley, 18, of Lanier Drive; Anthony Dijon Benjamin, 20, of Oxendine Drive in Claxton; Marvin Eugene Johnson, 50, of Aruba Road in Claxton; and Alvin Lashawn Williams, 23, of Park Place Apartments.

Park Place Apartments has been in the spotlight recently, with attention stemming from citizen complaints to city officials about the crime rate at the complex, as well as a number of shootings, including one last week in which the son of a man killed there in 2014 was shot during a fight.

Saxon said some at the scene Saturday showed minor injuries, but all declined EMS attention. The reason for the fight was unclear, but reports did not indicate any gang-related causes, he said.
