Three men -- two armed with guns -- invaded an apartment just after midnight Tuesday, leaving with $700 and a cellphone. Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner said officers responded to University Pointe Apartments on Harvey Drive, near the campus of Georgia Southern University, around 12:17 a.m. and met with two female victims. The women said three men forced their way into the apartment after someone answered a knock at the door.The men, described as black, "came into the residence, brandished firearms and demanded money," Turner said.
