Two men and a woman are behind bars after Statesboro police detectives linked them to a recent armed robbery.
Victims reported the incident June 21, telling police they were robbed at gunpoint by the three suspects while at Mill Creek Park, said Statesboro police Chief Mike Broadhead.
"Three victims reported that they were robbed by three suspects that they had met earlier in the day. The victims reported they told the three suspects they were going to Mill Creek Park for recreational activities and asked them to join them," he said.
But when the victims arrived at the park, they saw the three suspects had already arrived. They "pulled alongside of the suspects' vehicle" and "shortly after, one of the suspects brandished a firearm and robbed the victims," he said.
The suspects reportedly took cellphones, personal items and a handgun.
Detectives identified the suspects as Darreyl Kimble III, 30; William "Jesse" Leonard Reeves, 23; and Krystina Lorraine Dowd, 40.
Kimble, of Hardeeville, South Carolina, and Reeves, of Ridgeland, South Carolina, were arrested in Savannah by the Savannah Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit on June 30, Broadhead said. They "have additional charges pending through Savannah police."
Dowd, of Metter, was arrested on Friday in Metter by the Metter Police
All three suspects were charged with three counts each of armed robbery.
The victims were not reported as injured.
All three suspects were booked into the Bulloch County Jail and remain without bond, awaiting further court appearances.
Broadhead expressed appreciation for the Savannah Police Department and Metter Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
