Two people were killed Monday in separate automobile accidents in Statesboro. Harold Shaun Phillips, 34, of Pooler, was killed early Monday morning on Veterans Memorial Parkway near Brannen Street, and Madelyn Neidlinger, 74, of Middleground Road, was killed when her car ran off Lakeview Road Monday night. According to Georgia State Patrol reports released Thursday, Phillips was traveling north on Veterans Memorial Parkway near Brannen Street around 7:45 a.m. when his vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree on the east side of the road.
