Georgia Southern University police officers helped catch two armed robbery suspects Friday night minutes after Statesboro police gave descriptions of the suspects. In responding to The Pointe at Southern to assist Statesboro officers, GSU police stopped a gray Chevrolet Impala on Mike-Ann Drive that contained suspects matching those descriptions, Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner said. The man and woman, John Willie Jones, 28, of Forbes Street in Wadley, and Danequa Niquez Williams, 21, of Burten Drive in Wadley, were both arrested on charges of armed robbery and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
