The Friday morning search of a Maple Street home police called a "source for the distribution of a significant amount of crack cocaine" also yielded items stolen in recent area burglaries. Around 10:30 a.m. Friday, Statesboro Police Department Crime Suppression Unit officers involved in a burglary and narcotics investigation executed a search warrant and arrested Demetrius Lavelle Lee, 25, of East Jones Avenue, and Verna Lanier, 59, of Maple Street, Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner said. "Investigations revealed that stolen property from recent burglaries was being held at the residence," Turner said.
