Last week, United States District Court Judge Lisa Godbey Wood sentenced the last of 13 area defendants in a South Georgia methamphetamine trafficking ring to federal prison for their involvement in the crimes. The defendants were convicted as part of a joint federal and state operation targeting methamphetamine trafficking in South Georgia, said acting U.S. Attorney Jim Durham. Several defendants were from Bulloch and neighboring counties.
