Mr. and Mrs. Barry P. Sherrod of Stilson, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Jordan Elizabeth Sherrod, to Derrick Mitchell Mathis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Mathis of Louisville, Ga.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Billy and Jeanette Turner of Statesboro and the late Buck and Grace Sherrod of Stilson. The future bride graduated from Georgia Southern University in December 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in nursing and is now a registered nurse at Beaufort Memorial Hospital in South Carolina.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Busch and JoAnn Hadden of Edgehill, Ga., and the late Roy and Elizabeth Amerson of Louisville. The future groom graduated from Georgia Southern University in December 2013 with a bachelor's degree in middle grades education and is currently teaching at Beaufort Middle School.
    The couple will wed on April 26, 2014, at six o'clock in the evening at Emit Grove Baptist Church in Statesboro.
