Mr. and Mrs. Earl and Karen Motes of Portal, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Lynn Motes of Portal, to Mr. Richard James Mock, son of Mrs. Junko Inami of Gardena, California.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Motes and the late John W. Motes of Portal and Mrs. Maggie L. Collins of Portal. Samantha is a 2005 graduate of Portal High School and is a 2008 graduate of Ogeechee Tech, with a degree in computer technology. She is currently employed at Pro Appliance in Portal.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Casey of Statesboro. Richard is a 2001 graduate of Statesboro High School and is currently employed at Pro Appliance as a certified appliance repair technician.
    The couple has planned to wed on February 26, 2011, at 6 p.m. at the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Metter.
