Alicia Lynn Lipsey and Matthew Clark Newton

    Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Palfy of Register, Ga., are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Alicia Lynn Lipsey, to Matthew Clark Newton, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Newton of Millen, Ga. Alicia is also the daughter of the late Mr. Maurice “Mickey” Lipsey Jr. and Mrs. Shelley Lipsey of Calhoun, Ga.
    The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Neville Jr. of Register and the late Mr. Maurice Lipsey and Mrs. Lottie Lipsey of Rocky Ford, Ga. Alicia is a 2004 honor graduate of Statesboro High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology in 2007 and a Bachelor of Science in agriculture in 2009, both from the University of Georgia. Alicia is currently employed as a degree program specialist in the Registrar’s Office at Georgia Southern University.
    The future groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. David Clark of Millen and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Wendell Newton of Statesboro, Ga. Matthew is a 2007 honor graduate of Jenkins County High School and is pursuing a degree in biology at Georgia Southern University. Matthew is currently employed as a veterinary assistant at Gateway Animal Hospital in Statesboro.
    An October wedding and reception are planned at the Palfy residence in Register.
