Retired Lt. Col. and Mrs. Ralph E. Howard of Register, Ga., plan to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary on October 19 from 5–7 p.m. at the Springhill Suites Hospitality Center. The couple was married on October 20, 1963, at the First United Methodist Church in Statesboro. Mrs. Howard is the former Bonnie Dekle of Register. She is a retired school nutrition director. Mr. Howard is retired from the U.S. Army. They have three children: Paul (Maureen) of Williamsburg, Va.; Kevin (Sharon) of Knoxville, Tenn.; and Ralph E. Howard Jr., who preceded them in death. Their grandchildren are Laurel, Afton, Ian and Daniel Howard. Friends and relatives are invited to attend the celebration. No gifts, please.
