Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Emerson Gay Jr. of Millen, Ga., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Frances Joy Gay, to Emmett Graham Renfroe III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Graham Renfroe Jr. of Statesboro, Ga.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Joyce Gay and the late Mr. Emerson Gay of Millen and the late Mr. and Mrs. John David Cannon of Vidalia, Ga. Miss Gay is a graduate of Jenkins County High School and Georgia Southern University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education. She also obtained her Master of Science in education from Walden University. She is currently employed with the Bulloch County Board of Education as a kindergarten teacher at Julia P. Bryant Elementary School.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Pleasant Burton Brannen Jr. of Statesboro and the late Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Graham Renfroe Sr. of Augusta, Ga. Mr. Renfroe is a graduate of Statesboro High School and the University of Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Terry College of Business and was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He is the owner of Renfroe Construction and Renfroe Farms in Statesboro.
    The couple plans to wed on November 23, 2013, at
6 p.m. at Statesboro First United Methodist Church, with a reception to follow at the home of the groom’s parents. No local invitations are being sent. All friends and family are invited to attend.
