Mr. and Mrs. Gary Donaldson of Brooklet announce the engagement of their daughter, Lacie Joyce of Lexington, South Carolina, to Lucas Brady Connell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Connell of Statesboro.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Donaldson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Obed Minick, all of Statesboro. Lacie is a 2006 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and received her undergraduate degree in early childhood education from Georgia Southern University. She also received her master's in curriculum and instruction from Georgia Southern and is currently teaching seventh grade science for Lexington County School District One.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arizona Connell and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvil Mays, all of Toombs County. Lucas is a 2009 graduate of Statesboro High School and received his undergraduate degree in logistics and supply chain management from Georgia Southern University. He is currently a regional sales manager for TCW Inc.

The couple is planning to wed on Dec. 21, 2019, at 4 p.m. in Gilbert, South Carolina.
