Mr. and Mrs. Joe and Teresa Cheney of Statesboro, Ga., are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Linsay Morgan, to Matthew Wesley Rudd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie and Christine Rudd of Dudley, Ga.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James and Jackie Brower of Sylvania, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John and Evelyn Cheney of Athens, Ga. Linsay is a 2004 honor graduate of Statesboro High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, in journalism and mass communications and a minor in sociology from the University of Georgia in 2008. She currently is employed by the Statesboro Herald as both the Lifestyles editor and the editor of Connect Statesboro.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. Jimmy Rudd and Mrs. Irene Walter of Opelika, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. Bill and Jeanette Bailey of LaGrange, Ga. Matthew attended Southern Union State Community College and is currently enrolled at Ogeechee Technical College, where he is pursuing Associate of Applied Science degrees in both computer support and computer networking.
    The couple plans to wed on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Old Freeman Family Farm in Cooperville, Ga.
