Mr. Fred Dunaway of Grand Ridge, Fla., and Mrs. Ruth Mitchell of Converse, Texas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Mary Thompson of Statesboro, to Mr. Brian Rottier, son of Mr. Jim Rottier and Ms. Sonjia Rottier of Fremont, Mich.
The couple plans to wed in April of 2009 in Statesboro.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ms. Mary Bankert of Converse, Texas, and Ms. Doris Dunaway of Bascom, Fla. Dr. Thompson is a licensed professional counselor, who has maintained a private psychotherapy practice in Statesboro for the last six years. She is a master's level graduate of the Clinical Psychology program at Georgia Southern University and recently completed her doctoral work in Child Psychology at Sarasota University.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Ms. Susie Shelburne of Monroe, Ga. Mr. Rottier is a graduate of the aviation science program at Western Michigan University and is currently a commercial airline pilot with Continental Airlines.
The couple plans to continue to reside in Statesboro.
