Talana LaRae Mosley Nelsan Miron Hobbs
    Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. Mosley of Portal, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Talana LaRae, to Nelsan Miron Hobbs, son of Mr. Nelson B. Hobbs and Ms. Annie Pearl Eursery of Metter, Ga.
    The announcement was made at an engagement dinner party hosted in their honor at the Historic Beaver House Inn in Statesboro on Saturday, February 14, 2009. The theme of the Saint Valentines' Day announcement was "He Asked … and She said Yes...."
    The bride-to-be is the paternal granddaughter of Ms. Bernice Mosley of Portal and the late Mr. Charlie Mosley and is the maternal granddaughter of Ms. Mary Graham of Allendale, S.C., and the late Mr. George Smart Sr.  She is the paternal great-granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sol Mosley Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Darvin Riggs Sr. and the maternal great-granddaughter of the later Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lee Walker and the late Mr. Steven Allen Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Smart. She is a 2003 graduate of Portal High School and graduated magna cum laude from Georgia Southern University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Talana is currently a fifth grade teacher at Treutlen County Elementary School in Soperton, Ga.
    The groom-to-be is the paternal grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Britt Stamp Hobbs and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wesley T. Ushersy.  He is a 2000 graduate of Metter High School and a 2004 honor graduate of Ogeechee Technical College with an Associate’s degree in Microcomputers. Miron currently works at Excelsior Electrical Membership Corporation in Metter.
    The wedding ceremony is set for Saturday, May 30, 2009, at four o’clock in the afternoon at the Banks Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Portal.
    A reception will follow.
