Plans have been finalized for the marriage of Allison Denice McDaniel and Tyler Suttles Akins.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby G. McDaniel of Chattanooga, Tenn. Miss McDaniel is the granddaughter of Hettie B. Boling and the late W. Earl Boling of Knoxville, Tenn., and the late Dolly F. and Jake E. McDaniel of Chattanooga, Tenn. A graduate of Soddy Daisy High School in Chattanooga, Miss McDaniel attended the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga and graduated from Chattanooga State University with a degree in Pre-Law. She was a member of the varsity cheerleading squad. Ms. McDaniel is self-employed as a health and fitness consultant and a certified personal trainer.
The groom-to-be is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy L. Akins Jr. of Statesboro. Mr. Akins is the grandson of Charles N. Suttles and the late Anna Jean Suttles of Jacksonville, Fla., and Barbara J. Akins and the late Roy L. Akins Sr. of Statesboro. He graduated from Bulloch Academy in Statesboro and attended both Georgia Military College and Georgia Southern University. He is employed by Edwards Educational Services and Gnat's Landing of St. Simons Island.
A private family wedding will be held on Oct. 3 at The King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort on St. Simons Island with a luncheon to follow in The Retreat Room.
