Joey Waters Hendrix became the bride of Loyd Alexander Morris during a ceremony held on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at six o’clock in the evening at Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Randy Waters officiated.
    The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus O. Hendrix Jr. of Portal and is the granddaughter of Betty Ray Hendrix of Statesboro, the late R.O. Hendrix Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Rex L. Waters of Pembroke.
    The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Anderson Morris of Statesboro and is the grandson of Jerona Morris of Statesboro, the late Loid Glen Morris and the late Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Williams.
    Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose her sister, Jaclyn Olivia Hendrix of Statesboro, as her maid of honor. Bridesmatrons were Andrea Morris Barnes of Williamsburg, Va., sister of the groom; and Virginia Lynn Doiron of Cumming, Ga. Morgan Dianne Brunson of Statesboro, cousin of the bride, served as junior bridesmaid.
    The groom chose his father to stand beside him as his best man. Groomsmen were Alex Lee Graham, Stephen Daniel Nesmith and Hudson Blake Deal, all of Statesboro.
    Caroline Ivy Stewart of Statesboro served as flower girl. The ring bearer was Coleman Adam Lindsey of Statesboro, cousin of the bride.
    Vocalists were Judy Williams and Josh Devane of Statesboro. Josh Devane also served as pianist, and the organist was Pierce Dickens of Statesboro. Greeters and program attendants were Nancy Lee Page of Statesboro, cousin of the groom; Zachery McDonald of Statesboro, cousin of the bride; and Sierra Cowart of Brooklet.
    Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Snella’s Place in Statesboro.
    Servers were Cynthia Odum of Jesup and Gwen Sims of Atlanta, aunts of the bride; and Nancy Page and Lynn Williams of Statesboro, aunts of the groom.
    Guests were greeted by Betsy Riner of Statesboro, aunt of the bride. The guest book was attended by Nancy Lee Page.
    The couple honeymooned at the Sandals Resort in Nassau, Bahamas, and now resides in Statesboro.

 Family, friends honor Hendrix, Morris
    Prior to their wedding, Joey Waters Hendrix and Loyd Alexander Morris were guests of honor at several prenuptial parties.
    A Christmas Shower held at the home of Sandy Smith on December 17, 2007, was hosted by fourth grade Mill Creek Elementary School teachers Deryl Collins, Stacy Dinello, Ann Jacobs, Gail Mizelle, Pam Roesel and Sandy Smith.
    A Breakfast at Georgia’s Bed & Breakfast on March 29, 2008, was hosted by the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church Marian Agan Bible Study Class.
    On April 2, 2008, a Miscellaneous Shower was held at the home of Beth Sands, hosted by Sallie Zetterower Elementary School teachers.
    A Southern Living At Home Shower at the home of Heidi Finch was held on April 5, 2008. The event was hosted by Heidi Finch, Barbara Deal, Patsy Kemp, Mary Lee, Adelia Rogers and Heather Stewart.
    Ginger Brannen and Terri Grimm hosted a Miscellaneous Luncheon at Fordham’s Farmhouse on April 19, 2008.
    A Yard and Garden Shower, hosted by the members of the T. Roe Scott Bible Study Class, was held at the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church on April 25, 2008.
    A Miscellaneous Coffee was held at the home of Brenda Brinson on April 26, 2008. Co-hostesses were Ashley Harris, Dottie Jones, Lynnie Brooke Taylor and Lisa Riggs.
    A Handyman Shower and Cookout was held at the home of Alex Graham and Callie Paige on May 10, 2008, and co-hosted by Kevin Sanders and Amber Tucker.
    A Miscellaneous Coffee at the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on May 17, 2008, was hosted by Beth Akins, Lynda Bennett, Cecile Boulineau, Jane Cason, Margie Denmark, Billie Jane Deal, Nell Godbee, Nadyne Harville, Jean Hendrix, Carolyn Hotchkiss, Crystal Hotchkiss, Jo McKanna, Paula Jacobs, Pat Price, Sylvia Prosser, Pearl Riggs, Lawanda Scott, Gina Spivey, Bonnie Strange, Patsy Sye, Judy Williams and Mary Alice Woodrum.
    A Lingerie Shower was held at Saint Simons Island on the weekend of May 30, 2008. Hostesses were Jackie Hendrix, Selena Cowart, Pam Crosby, Katrina Kelehar, Candy Miller, Stephanie Brunson, Kelly McDonald, Jimmi Lynn Lindsey, Heather Stewart and Heidi Finch.
    The Rehearsal Dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at R.J.’s Steakery in Statesboro on the eve of the wedding.
    A Bridesmaids’ Brunch at the home of Betsy Riner on the morning of the wedding was co-hosted by Julie Stone and Emily Stringer.
