Lt. Col. (Ret.) and Mrs. Christopher Curry of Jesup, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Christy Janette Curry of Statesboro, to John Weston Rikard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Rikard of Marietta, Ga.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pritchard and the late Joe Shackelford and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy Curry, all of Columbus, Miss. She is the great-granddaughter of Ms. Millie Barham. Christy graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s in Communication Studies. She is employed at Georgia Southern as an admissions counselor.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Farrell, Ms. Clarice Rikard and the late Mr. Gene Rikard, all of Marietta. He graduated from Young Harris College with an Associate’s in Business in 2003 and graduated in 2003 from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor’s in Sports Management in 2006. He is employed with Bulloch parks & Recreation as an athletic supervisor.
The couple has planned to wed on May 31, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the Ft. Stewart Main Post Chapel.
