Mr. and Mrs. Jeff S. Akins of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtney Anne Akins of Statesboro, to Derick Jason Sharpe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael G. Sharpe.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul S. Akins and the late William F. and Lottie D. Ethridge of Brunswick. She is a 2003 honor graduate of Statesboro High School and will graduate this May from Georgia Southern University with a BA in Writing and Linguistics.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. O.F. Sharpe and the late Shirley Kessler Sharpe and Mr. Richard E. Page and the late Barbara Jane Page. He is a 2002 honor graduate of South Effingham High School and will graduate this May from Georgia Southern University with a BS in Chemistry.
The couple has planned to wed on June 21, 2008, at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Statesboro.
No local invitations will be sent. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
