TMT Farms hosts thousands each holiday season — thousands of people eager to enjoy the Christmas light display and feel the magic of the holidays. 

People come from all over the area to enjoy the lights, and for many, it's become a holiday tradition they can't imagine doing without.

"It's not just for children. I know a lot of times, we think Christmas is just for children, but there's a lot of grown-ups who say what joy it brings to them to come," said Deborah Thompson. 

Thompson and her husband, Bulloch County Commissioner Roy Thompson, started the tradition nearly a decade ago, and they add to the display each year. 

Patrons who enjoy the display provide canned goods and non-perishable food items, in addition to pet food and supplies that are given to local animal rescue organizations. The food is given to area families, food banks and churches. Monetary donations are also accepted.

TMT Farms also holds a toy drive, and the toys are distributed locally to needy children. This year, families were able to come to the farm to pick out gifts for their children themselves.

According to TMT Farms' Facebook page, more than 150 families were helped last year, and 35,000 vehicles rolled through the display.

"There's a lot of hungry people and homeless people and a lot of people don't realize the real need here around us. It's been a blessing for us as a family, and we feel like everybody who comes and gives is a part of this ministry," said Thompson.

The display will remain open through Dec. 28, and begins each night as soon as it's dark.
