While electricity is taken for granted in everyone's daily life today, it wasn't that long ago that much of rural America was still dependent upon manual or battery power for whatever of the then new-fangled conveniences they were lucky enough to possess. Then came the "REA" as part of the New Deal and the electrification of America.
