Community Review - Yes, its all for you!

Last Sunday, I told you about a surprise in store for you. Today, I’m going to tell you what that surprise is. Some of you may have guessed it if you’ve seen the promos in the paper this week. My surprise is a new publication—a publication filled with community news. The name chosen for the publication is Community Voice to reflect the nature of the content.
Many of you have expressed a desire for more local news in print. This is it! In Community Voice, you will see lots of photos, local information and thoughts and opinions submitted by your friends and neighbors. Also, it will contain a Community Events section so you’ll always know what’s coming.
With all the events and meetings that take place in our community, I know you’re wondering how we’re going to gather ALL that information. That’s where you can get involved. If you have ANYTHING you would like your friends and neighbors to know about, you can submit it online. News and information can be submitted by posting it in a blog. You can also upload pictures to go with the story, and if you have lots of pictures, you can create a photo album. To announce your upcoming events, post the event on the community events calendar online. In fact, the only way to appear in this publication is to submit your information online.  Everything in Community Voice will come from the Community Page on the Web site.
Now to add to the fun of launching Community Voice, we are sponsoring a photo contest. Photos submitted from Sept. 21 to Sept. 30 are eligible to win the featured photo spot on the cover and $50 cash. Judges will be looking for photos that reflect the concept of community. So get those photos submitted to have a chance to see your photo on the cover of the inaugural issue.
I am really excited about Community Voice, and you will be, too. To take advantage of the beautiful photos that are submitted online, Community Voice will be in full color—every page. Beginning Oct. 5, look for Community Voice on Fridays with the Statesboro Herald. Go to the Web site today and create your free user account on the Community Page. Post your blog, photos and events, and then look to see if your submissions are in Community Voice. Let us hear your voice!ear your voice!
