Community Review by Pat Homer
A Community makeover

You’re going to LOVE our new Community page on the Web site. It’s fantastic! I have had lots of fun playing with the test site this week. It looks so much better, and it’s so much easier to use. I’ll let you know the official launch date as soon as it’s confirmed.
The picture on the Community page from the Photo Gallery is MUCH bigger. Plus, it’s easier to see the other photos, as well. The organization of the photos into albums is much better, making previously posted pictures easier to find.
The Events Calendar is much easier to use and to see. Up to five of the current day’s events will be listed on the Community page with a link to see more.
The Blog Space is greatly improved, too. When the new site goes live, you will be able to embed pictures inside the blog rather than to just attach them. Also, you can choose to be notified when your blog has a new comment. The blogger photos should look better, too. Another fun feature is the ability to rate the blogs as either cool or not. Our online folks will have fun with that one.
This week, I’m happy to introduce Luree Bowen as our new Portal correspondent. She is president of the Portal Historical Society, Inc., and she will be keeping us informed about the happenings in Portal. Luree has served as a security consultant/analyst for the State of Tennessee Homeland Security and Raytheon Engineers and Constructors and has an extensive background in communications. You can read one of Luree’s blogs below. Go online to read others.
We now have correspondents from Brooklet and Portal. We would love to hear the news from the other small towns in Bulloch and surrounding counties. What about the news from Register? What’s going on down there? What about Sylvania, Nevils, Stilson …? If you would like to submit the news from your community, e-mail or call me about being a correspondent. Our community wants to know what’s going on in your neck of the woods.
Pigskin Pickem

If you’ve already visited the site, you’re in for a treat on your next visit. The site was updated for a cleaner look and feel. It’s also better organized for easier access to fan generated content. Around the end of August, you will be able to create fan photo galleries and message boards. It just keeps getting better. Don’t miss out on fun and prizes. Create your account today!
