An annual event since 2011, the Statesboro Kiwanis Rodeo is one of the most eagerly anticipated family events in the Boro. Held as a fundraiser by the Kiwanis Club to help raise money for the Bulloch County area, the event kicked off on April 20.
Hedrick Rodeo Company, out of Madisonville, Tennessee, has been bringing bulls, broncs and more to town since the rodeo made its debut in Statesboro, and the event is always held at the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fairgrounds.
An estimated 6,000 people attend the rodeo during its two nights to watch the roping, bronc riding and calf roping. Miss Rodeo USA, Summer Weldon from Tennessee, was also on hand.
More information on the rodeo can be found on the Statesboro Kiwanis Rodeo Facebook page or online at www.statesborokiwanisrodeo.com.
