Goin' nuts at annual Peanut FestivalFor 28 years, the Bulloch County town of Brooklet has celebrated its rich agricultural heritage by recognizing, promoting and glorifying the mighty goober at the Annual Brooklet Peanut Festival. On Saturday, peanuts that were boiled, parched, roasted, fried and toasted were plentiful at the festival that started with a parade and ended with a street party. Since 1990, the town has celebrated its rich agricultural heritage by holding the festival centered around peanuts.August 27, 2017

'Sweet' holiday traditionSince 2007, the Lighting of Sweetheart Circle at Georgia Southern University has been an annual holiday tradition for Statesboro that helps to kick off the season. President Jaimie Hebert flipped the switch for his first time Thursday evening, lighting buildings, lampposts and trees draped with lights, wreaths and bows. The lighting event was hosted by the University Programming Board.December 4, 2016
