Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Darsey

Garrett and Madison Darsey of Statesboro were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017.

The bride’s parents are Tony and Diane Phillips of Statesboro. Her grandparents are Gene Phillips of Deep Gap, North Carolina, and the late Phyllis Pruitt of Anchorage, Alaska. Also, her grandparents are the late Kenneth and Betty Turner of Dawsonville, Georgia.

The groom’s parents are Jerry and Georgiana Darsey of Statesboro. His grandparents are Jerry and Marjorie Darsey Sr. of Jesup, Georgia, and George and Renee Garrett of Waynesville, North Carolina.

The wedding began at 6 p.m. and was held at Laurel Ridge Country Club in Waynesville, North Carolina. The Rev. Alan Darsey, uncle of the groom, performed the ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by Tony Phillips, father of the bride.

The bride’s gown was a fitted, light champagne colored gown that featured hand-sewn ivory lace and a cathedral train. Her accessories included a cathedral-length tulle veil and a floral bouquet. Her bouquet incorporated large white garden roses, white peonies, white ranunculus, white anemones, heirloom pearls and ribbon with beautiful winter greenery from the mountains of North Carolina.

Summer Hughes was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Katie Mathis, Aubrie Fils-Perkins, Katherine Sanders and Tatum Turner. Anna Beth Smith and Kylie Turner were the flower girls and Kaleb Turner was the ring bearer, all cousins of the bride.

Jerry Darsey, father of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Dylan Carter, Jon Daughtry, Tyler Edwards and Ethan Perkins.

Jake Hallman played the ceremony music and the bridal party processional. Bagpiper Gordon Warburton played the bride’s processional and the recessional.

Bridal attendants were Mariah and Danielle Sanders. Ushers were Rick Devries and Ethan Perkins. Michell Smith, cousin of the bride, directed the wedding day festivities.

The reception was also held at the country club. Entertainment included the Chris Mitchell Band.

The couple honeymooned in Ireland and Scotland and will reside in Statesboro.
