Police report - 8-28-14; A man told police someone put sugar in his gas tank.

STATESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT
➤ Arrests
    ▲ Christopher Eugene Simpson, 21, Oglethorpe Highway, Hinesville — giving false information, obstruction.
    ▲ Marco Carmona, 18, Knight Drive — driving without a license.

➤ Incidents
    ▲ RUSTY’S TAVERN — A man told police around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday that he was involved in an attack and did not recall what happened. He suffered injuries to his ear and hands.
    ▲ WHISPERING PINES BOULEVARD — A woman told police around 4 p.m. that she received harassing phone calls from a man who had previously been arrested for the same offense.
    ▲ JAMES STREET — A man told police around 7:50 a.m. Tuesday that someone put sugar in his gas tank.
    ▲ FOXRIDGE APARTMENTS — A woman told police around 4 p.m. Friday that a tenant, served with a termination of lease, threatened to damage the apartments.
Police are also investigating a reported explosion reported around 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the apartments. Managers provided a video of some sort of device being detonated in front of Building F. The reports were separate and did not indicate whether the incidents were related.
    ▲ CAMPUS CROSSINGS — Two men argued over who was better at basketball around 7:50 p.m. Tuesday. One snatched the other’s glasses, then struck him in the head and neck before making further threats.

    ▲ Courtney Jerome Gaines, 24, Lanier Drive — possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of MDPV (“Molly”).
    ▲ Bobby Anthony Worley, 47, East Winthrop Avenue, Lyons — suspended license, no insurance.
    ▲ Cindy Rushing Saxon, 39, Clito Road — drug court violation.
    ▲ Jemarcus Jerrell Godfrey, 19, Bermuda Run Apartments — sale of marijuana, sale of LSD, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession/use of a drug-related object.

➤ Incidents
    ▲ BLACK CREEK CHURCH ROAD — A man told police around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday that a teen threw a rock and cracked his windshield. He said he confronted the boy, picked up a bat from his truck bed and put it back. The teen told deputies the complainant drove past “shooting birds” and that he did throw a rock. He said the complainant picked up the bat and yelled at him before giving him a ride home. The complainant said he did so in order to find out where the offender lived so he could report it to law enforcement.

➤ Arrests
    ▲ Connor Stephen Leonard, 18, Southern Pines Apartments — underage possession of alcohol.
    ▲ Ellington Graeme Jones, 18, Heatherstone Way, Martinez — underage possession of alcohol, possession of a false ID document.
    ▲ Joe L. Jones, 20, Lanier Drive — no driver’s license, failure to yield to pedestrians in crosswalk.

➤ Incidents
    ▲ Officers issued five traffic citations and assisted two motorists Tuesday.
    ▲ RUSSELL UNION — Police are investigating reports of suspicious persons around 2 p.m. Tuesday.
    ▲ PUBLIC SAFETY — Police investigated reports of suspicious persons around 7 p.m. Tuesday.
    ▲ HANNER COMPLEX — Firefighters and police investigated reports of the smell of gas around 8 p.m. Tuesday. The scene was cleared with nothing found.
